Best Social Media Networks

Social media has emerged as the most powerful content marketing platform. These are incredible resources for businesses looking to promote their brands online. The key is to know your market, know the product or service you are promoting, and then getting good content and marketing know how on the sites.

For any business, garnering a personal touch with your customer is almost essential in this business environment. The beauty about social media is that there is pretty much a social media site for anything you are marketing. The platforms themselves are free to use, but also have paid advertising options specifically for brands that want to reach even more new audiences. It can boost your traffic exponentially.

In my opinion, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook have emerged as the winners for successful marketing platform.

Following is the brief introduction about Social Media so that one can choose the best platform:

Facebook Monthly Active Users 1.59 Billion. Founded on February 4, 2004, this is the biggest social network on web, both in terms of name recognition and total number of users. The most powerful tool you can utilize in your digital advertising campaign for select products, services and special offers. One can run all types of online content, pages, events, ads and lots more. To really succeed, one must be a conversational brand, or become one. It takes a lot of money and effort to build an audience. Facebook severely limits access to your audience. While Facebook seems simple (and free!) it’s not. To get your content on to a timeline, you probably need to spend a lot on quality, promotion, or both.

Twitter Monthly Active Users 320 Million. Founded on March 21, 2006. This makes another powerful platform as it enables to find and engage potential customers. In addition to supporting online branding, it also promotes online reputation management and thought leadership. It acts as best tool for covering events and running them live. Event marketing relates to seminars, conferences, and workshops, all of which play a key role. Also, Twitter can be used as a microblogging tool to build online links and promote the business website. Start, join, and lead conversations; interact directly with brands and customers.

LinkedIn Monthly Active Users 100 Million. Founded on December 14, 2002, and launched on May 5, 2003. It is effective for attracting and finding successful sales leads, used by businesses, recruiters and Job-Seekers. You can do Job-postings,(Branding) company descriptions, employer/employee research.

LinkedIn does not only serve as a social media platform, but lets you connect to individual people, potential customers and clients in order to grow your professional network. The platform is excellent for optimizing profiles, content and published articles for ranking in the search engines for target keyword groups. This is a more secure way of dealing with people in the field of business, also, as you can vet people rather quickly given the intelligence provided from connections, organizations and similar attributes through LinkedIn.

YouTube Monthly Active Users 1 Billion. This video-based social media website was founded on February 14, 2005. YouTube is the second most popular search engine behind Google. So when it comes to search engine optimization, videos are more likely to appear in search results than other websites. Brands with video content and ads, anyone giving explanations or sharing expertise are using it.

Instagram Monthly Active Users 400 Million. Launched on October 6, 2010. One of the reasons this platform is so popular is that it is so easy to use – snap a photo and post. This is one of the reasons that Instagram is used at work more than any other platform. It is probably unique among platforms in its opportunity to create connection with relatively little work. Another advantage is that there is no timeline editing. Every subscriber has an equal chance of seeing what you post. Users widely use this platform to share information about food, fashion, art, travel, and other similar subjects. Hashtags are easy and fantastic, and posting beautiful pictures is a no-brainer with the effects Instagram offers.

Google+ excels as a marketing platform because it has a huge reach. The content shared here ranks higher as it is fed into the personal search results of the Google+ circles. The rankings can go even higher if the content is interactive, with images and videos. It is more formal and professional than Facebook; Hashtags have major search value.

Don’t start on all these at once. Pick on platform and built your profiles authority. If you spend enough time and efforts, I’m sure it’ll help!
